Public Lands Day Volunteer Event at Bird Lake Trail

Celebrate National Public Lands Day!

NEEF National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands including state and national parks, national forests and city parks. Spend a day giving back to these treasured public spaces along with others across the country.

Bird Lake Recreation Area, located near Hoyt Lakes, is home a system of multiple use trails enjoyed by hikers, cross-country skiers and nature lovers. Help prepare these trails for the winter season by clearing back brush from the trail. Bring the whole family for a fun fall day at Bird Lake.

Meet at the Bird Lake parking area 4 miles southeast of Hoyt Lakes.

Volunteers should wear pants and a long-sleeve shirt and bring plenty of water. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign the necessary paperwork.

Tools, gloves and other safety equipment will be provided. Lunch will be provided for those who register using the registration form below.
