Wilderness Project #3 - Ramshead Lake Area Portage Clearing

Project Description: Bring your fishing rod - Ramshead Lake is known for its northern pike! Volunteers will travel by canoe from the Moose/Portage River (north) entry point to Ramshead Lake in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. During the day, volunteers will work together to clear portages in the area. The group will camp on Ramshead Lake with the option of moving to Nina Moose Lake on the final night for a quicker trip to the entry point on the last day.

Meeting Location and Time: LaCroix Ranger Station 8/12 @ 8:00 am

Fees: There is a $50 registration fee for all participants. This fee is refundable up to three weeks prior to the project.

More Details: The Northwoods Volunteer Connection provides some equipment for this project, see the Resources tab for more details including packing lists. Volunteers will be reimbursed $25 per day for the cost of food. Individuals may choose to bring their own food or to order food for the trip through a local outfitter. 

**Please note that canoe experience is preferred for this project.
